About

Car, Schmar chronicles the ups and downs and all arounds of living car-free. I am a journalist who lived in Los Angeles without a car for four years (by choice). In 2012, I moved to Portland, Ore., hoping to find less transit hassle and better air quality. This blog is mostly bike talk, with some public transit issues and just a splash of enviro-concern. I’m not anti-car; this blog exists to show a perspective gained outside of one.
